First let me tell you two stories revolving around “Trust”
Story 1
A rich landlord has a change of heart. He seeks redemption for a sin committed years earlier. He decides to give away his land to the local farmers.
The farmers refuse the offer. They think there must be some catch and the landlord will exploit them later in some devious way. They don’t trust him
(I had read this novel by a Russian author years ago and had forgotten the name of the author/book. I asked my mother today and she told me it’s Resurrection by Leo Tolstoy.)
True Story 2
Financial Services Companies in India sell opaque financial products hidden behind a lot of jargons. There is information gap between the sellers and the buyers.
But people trust them with their hard earned money. Lakhs of crores of real money!
The comparison
In the first story, the landlord had noble intentions. But the people did not trust him. In the second, the companies pay lip service to things like transparency, financial awareness. But still people trust them!
My Takeaways:
Trust cannot be built overnight. It takes time.
Trust does not mean that you get what you trust you will!
What’s your takeaway? Do you have another “trust” story? Do share.
Yea trust can not be built overnight, and the same time it can be broken very easily. There is a very famous story you must have heard. The boy and wolf story, he used to tease his fellow friend by saying that save me, wolf have come. After tow three times he lost the trust and the time wolf really comes, nobody come up to save him. So trust very can be broken very easily.
Nice, Khalid.
